The Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP) had the honour of hosting a distinguished delegation from Sierra Leone, including the nation's Foreign Minister.

The delegation's purpose was to participate in the inaugural meeting of the Hungarian-Sierra Leonean Joint Economic Committee (JEC). The Sierra Leonean delegation, comprising esteemed diplomats and business professionals, was headed by their Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
They were cordially received at the HWP office by its leadership - Dr Károly Kovács, President of HWP; Róbert Forintos, Co-Chairman of HWP; Bálint Horváth, Chief Secretary of HWP; and Zoltán Horváth, Managing Director of HWP Nonprofit Ltd.

The purpose of the visit was to present the water-related technology solutions provided by HWP member companies to nations across Africa. In 2021, the Minister of Water from the respective country attended the Planet Budapest Sustainability Expo and World Summit. This was to gain direct insight into the successes and endorsements of the globally acknowledged and esteemed domestic water sector.

During the Planet 21 trade show, we introduced our groundbreaking Septopure technology, designed for comprehensive faecal sludge treatment. This innovation significantly piqued the interest of the Pureco group, following in-depth discussions and negotiations. Post-event, technical dialogues persisted and Bálint Horváth, CEO of Pureco Ltd, had the honour of welcoming the Sierra Leone Minister of Water Resources to the wastewater treatment plant in Kumasi.

The professional consultations have proceeded in Budapest, featuring presentations from HWP, Pureco-Tradeland Ltd., and Puraset Ltd. The discussions extended beyond the official event, fostering a deeper dialogue.

Our successful projects in Africa have laid the groundwork for strong Ghanaian-Hungarian and Sierra Leonean-Hungarian professional partnerships. We anticipate soon introducing drinking water and wastewater treatment solutions in Sierra Leone, marking a significant achievement in our collaborative efforts.
